Directions to create a WWW Link Page using Mozilla Composer
1. Launch Mozilla ( Not Mozilla Firefox ) using Start Button or ShortCut on Desktop.
2. At Mozilla Home Page click on the command Window at the top then Composer.
3. Type the lines of text as they appear on the provided web page. ( Left Justified )
4. Make sure your First and Last name is at the bottom with Institution & Date.
5. Note: Dividers and categories are double spaced and text is single spaced.
6. After text has been entered & checked then use Control – A to select all & center.
7. When all is centered the click to the side of selected text to de-select it.
8. Click on the command Format then Page Colors and Background…
9. Check the circle in front of: Use Custom Colors
10. Click white rectangle to the right of Background and select a light background.
11. Click OK on the Block Background Color window
12. Click OK on the Page Colors and Background window
13. Select the top three lines and make them Bold… Use Control – B or B icon
14. Select the top three lines then Click command Format then Text Color…
15. At the Text Color window, click a dark contrasting color. ( Not Blue! Why?)
16. Select the last line: Name, Institution, and Date make last line. Bold and Color last line.
17. Select the text for: Teachers Discovering Computers 3rd Edition
18. Now: Minimize Mozilla Composer Web Page and launch Explorer or Firefox
19. Click on Favorite or Bookmark at the top of Browser and a List should appear.
20. Click the words for: Teachers Discovering Computers 3rd Edition
21. Select URL (web address) & use Control - C to copy URL from web address window.
22. Click Mozilla Link Page on Task Bar to have it re-appear full screen.
23. Click on the Link icon at top of page and use Control – V to paste the URL.
24. Use Minimize & Full Size and Copy and Paste procedures to create the other links.
Why is Copy and Paste procedures best for creating Link Pages?
25. After all Instructional Technology links are created then save this Mozilla Link Page.
26. Use the file name of: mclinkpage## where ## are your initials.
27. Save this Mozilla Link Page in your H Drive. It should be saved to folder?
28. After the Mozilla Composer Link Page has been saved then launch it and check it.
If any links do not work then use Mozilla Composer to open and correct link page.
