A chat room is a simple example of synchronous communication which is online

communication taking place at the same time. Chat Rooms are simple & practical 

ways to integrate technology! Chat Room & Instant Messaging were popular a few

years ago but with the advent of Cell Phone Texting, CR & IM have dimished!

A popular synchronous communication in a Multi-User Domain (MUD) mode is:

On&Off Line Video Games which are surpassing retail sales of DVD Rentals!

Some popular synchronous communication arenas are Audio and Video Web

Conferences as well as Social Networks for Education & Commerical communication.

Instructions:

Contact any classmate/teammate to arrange a mutually agreed upon time to complete

these Chat Room assignments during the first week. If your Chat is not with a Team

Mate at least offer to Chat with them. Exchange comments on the first week activities

is a recommended and adequate Chat Room assignment. Any other comments OK!

 in top left corner with a small  button to Click for another window which is actually

Main Chat Room! At Main Chat Room, in top right corner change size to full screen.

Use at least once during first week of class with any classmate. Also, exchanging a

few comments on first week activities is adequate. Chat is expected with Team Mates.

A recording of this visit is maintained so that I may verify the visit. Not to worry!!!

2. Use 2nd chat room at  http://itws.org/CR/phpMyChat.php3 at least once during

first week with any classmate / teammate. At second Chat Room it is requried for all

to register to create a profile. Exchanging a few comments on first week activities is

adequate. Adequate & appropriate discussion is expected from Team Mates as well.

When CR is used interactive discussion is maintained for (4) days. I do not have to

be present at the CR visits since they are recorded, so it is not necessary to invite me.

A practical Chat Room discussion would be on Pros and Cons of K-12 Chat Rooms.
