Directions to create a   WWW Link Page   using Mozilla Composer

( Example Link Page and web addresses located at the bottom. )

 

1. Launch  Mozilla Suite ( Not Mozilla Firefox ) using  Start Button  or  Desktop ShortCut

2. At Mozilla Home Page, click on the command Window at the top then Composer.

3. Type text from provided example (Left Justified).   Press Enter at end of each line.

4. Make sure your First&Last name,   Institution,  and Date   are at the bottom.

 

5. Note in provided example all lines are double spaced for ease of reading & clicking.

6. After text has been entered & checked   then  Hold Control   &   Hit A   to   Select All.

         After all is selected (highlighted)   then   click on the Center Justify button at top.

 

7. When all is centered, click   left or right   of selected text to de-select it.

8. Click on the command   Format   then    Page Colors and Background   (At Bottom)…

9. Check (Click)  the circle in front of:    Use Custom Colors

10. Click white rectangle at right of Background…  Now click a light background.

 

11. Click  OK  on the   Block Background Color   window

12. Click  OK  on the   Page Colors and Background   window

 

13. Select the top two lines of text and make them  Bold   Use Control – B  or  B icon

14. Select the top two lines   then  click  Format at top   then   click Text Color

15. At the Text Color window,  click a dark contrasting color. ( Not Blue! Why?)

16. Select last line: Name, Institution, Date make last line.   Bold & Color as in Step #14…

 

17. Select (Click & Drag) text for first link:     My Favorite News Station   CNN      

18. Clilck on command  Link   at the top ( It has a couple of links of chain above it… )

         Click the OK on the window.   Click either  right or left  of   Selected   to   De-select.

 

19. Select (Click & Drag) text for first link:     My Favorite Sports Station        ESPN

20. Click on command  Link   at the top ( It has a couple of links of chain above it… )

         Click the OK on the window.   Click either  right or left  of   Selected   to   De-select.

 

21. Continue this procedure to attach  WWW links   to the remaining   lines for links.

22. What would be a potential problem with creating Link Pages by typing in WWW links?

  

23. After all of the WWW Links are created   then   save this Mozilla Composer Link Page.

24. Use the file name of:    mclp##1     where      ##    are your First & Last initials.

 

27. Save this Mozilla Link Page in your   H Drive.  It should be saved to a Link Page folder?

28. After the Mozilla Composer Link Page has been saved   then   close all windows…

 

29. Double Click  My Computer and go to your H Drive and Open the Link Page Folder.

30. Double Click the WWW Link Page you have just created…  Check the WWW Links…

 

 

If any links do not work   then   use Mozilla Composer to open and correct link page.
